NABTEB Government Syllabus 2026/2027: Are you an Art student preparing for the NABTEB examination and have chosen Government as one of your subjects? If yes, you have made an excellent choice. Aims Objectives
The aim of the course is to:
i. expose students to the basic concepts, structures, institutions, and workings of government to prepare students to apply them in the Nigerian context and its relation with the outside world.
ii. to train students with further necessary knowledge in tackling the subject of government at the advanced level.
Scheme of Examination
The NABTEB Government examination is structured into two main papers:
The first is Paper I, which consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. This section is designed to assess the candidate’s general understanding of the Government syllabus and their ability to quickly recall key facts and concepts. It lasts for 1 hour and carries a total of 40 marks.
Paper II is the essay section, which tests deeper comprehension and the ability to discuss, analyze, and explain governmental systems and political ideas. In this section, candidates are required to answer 5 out of 7 essay questions. This paper lasts for 2 hours and is worth 60 marks.
